During lockdowns, many Americans seemed more concerned about when their hair salon would re-open rather than the deadly virus at hand. I embraced not getting my hair cut or color done, wearing the overgrowth proudly. This mask was shaped using actual strands of my hair that were brushed out during my first few months of isolation. I formed the mask using a heavy-duty hairspray and weaved in my natural hair to form the top piping.
